About SCORE DC
SCORE, "Counselors to America's Small Business," is a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration and is dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses nationwide. A national non-profit association founded in 1964, SCORE has over 10,500 volunteer members in 389 chapters across the United States.
The Washington, D.C. Chapter of SCORE has about fifty members, both retired and working, who have significant experience in the ownership, operation and/or management of both small and large businesses in many fields. Members offer free counseling in the District of Columbia, Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties in Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
The members of the Washington, DC Chapter of SCORE are committed to small business, and donate their time and expertise to provide counseling and mentoring to men and women who wish to start businesses or build existing businesses.
The Washington, DC Chapter of SCORE offers individual free counseling, low-cost workshops, and free team visits to business locations. SCORE teams provide counseling designed to assist your business to:
- Increase the value of a business by growing sales, earnings, and cash flow
- Identify and solve operating problems
- Recognize and capitalize on new business opportunities
- Make needed changes and add new systems
- Develop business plans
- Find sources and qualify for needed financing
